2K Brings Onboard Popular Battle Royale Producer to Boost Troubled Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

2K Games has welcomed Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently working on the forthcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

Leadership Change Comes After Lukewarm Response

Brinkman assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the exit of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster initial reveal last fall.

On Wednesday, 2K president David Ismailer informed team members about this decision through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had indicated the requirement for a clearer vision.

Ismailer expressed that the developers is now overhauling the project with a renewed focus, aiming to satisfy community desires.

A Pattern of Key Recruitment

The news mirrors a similar action taken by the publisher in August, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to work on the BioShock development group.

Below is the full content from Ismailer's announcement:
